At U S ports of entry since Dec 23 1940 officials seized and burned more than 15 tons about 75 000 pieces of foreign propaganda mail. Postmaster General Frank C Walker said action enforces a non mailables code and is not censorship. most mail came from Germany Russia Italy Japan and some from England.
