Action Postponed On Truck Licenses
A hearing in district court on an injunction to restrain collection of registration fees on trucks used for road work was postponed. M. D. Widtfeldt, a New Mexico road contractor, had obtained a temporary restraining order against arrests for operating trucks without a license plate on Highway 70 where he held a contract. He argues the trucks are not on public roads and thus not subject to fees, claiming the road is not public while construction continues. New Mexico plates were used until December 31, then removed.
