Policemen Asked to Probe Killing in Texas
Curtis Crays and Sales Coffey, officers who fatally shot Clarence Hammonds after he killed Officer Chester Grounds, are summoned to the Potter County grand jury to review the circumstances. Hammonds, 37, was killed at a filling station after ambushing Grounds at a domestic call. Grounds, 25, leaves a widow and infant. Hammonds’ survivors include an 18-year-old wife and a 3-year-old son. Funeral rites set for Hammonds and Grounds.

Poisoned Needle Executes Dogs For Child Attack
In Cortland New York on February 15 four mongrel dogs were executed for attacking six year old Joyce Hammond who may never regain use of an arm. County Veterinarian BE Moore carried out death sentences approved as humane by the local Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
