Oldham County Rejects Highway Plan To Tascosa Trail

Oldham County officials refused to sign a petition backing a tentative designation of the Tascosa Trail from Tasca to Amarillo via Channing and Hartley and Dallam counties. Officials said they were not interested in a road that would tax property owners. Citizens at the meeting planned to circulate a county petition to gauge real sentiment. The proposal, supported by the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, would shorten distances from Tasca to Amarillo by avoiding detours due to the Canadian River bridge.
