Potter County Opposes North-Side Widening Of Route 66

Potter County commissioners discussed the department’s request for a south side right of way and a four lane, divided highway from Bushland east to southwest of Veterans Hospital. KGNC Goes Off Air For Nearly Three Hours

KGNC broadcast halted for 2 hours 43 minutes due to transmitter motor failure 27 miles northeast of Amarillo. Bill Torrey, KGNC chief engineer, traced the fault to a defective part in the transmitter motor. repairs lasted a little over two hours before power was restored at 9 19. Fumes from broken gas mains in Philadelphia sent 18 to hospitals and four to other facilities.

Visions Injunction In Hangar Purchase

Potter County may be enjoined from paying for two surplus hangars bought by county commissioners for 21000 dollars. County Judge E O Northcutt told the commissioners the county must advertise for bids before any expenditure over 2000 dollars or entering into any contract. Any taxpayer may seek an injunction if bids were not solicited.
