Grain prices fell for a third day with corn wheat and oats hitting limit lows in early trading. A mid day rally lifted wheat and corn while oats held gains. traders cited short covering and new buying amid a volatile market. The London market also sank heavily as New York shares rebounded reluctantly.
Weather update from Walter Watts at the English Field station notes a sunny break in Amarillo with highs near 35 degrees this afternoon and a 25 degree low tonight. Snow and slush linger but should clear. total precipitation for the week is .57 inches, above February norms. Watts also cautions a potential new low pressure system in Nevada could bring more snow by Sunday. E C Britain, 1300 Monroe, is reported resting well after pneumonia at St. Anthony's Hospital.
