Mr and Mrs C M Howe of 3410 B West Seventh report two sons serving in the armed forces Clarence M Howe Jr Army since September 1940 trained at March Field Blythe Field and Ft Dix sent overseas January 1944 now in India Russell E Howe Navy since March 1944 after Amarillo High School boat training in San Diego assigned to USS West Virginia fought at Leyte and Surig i strait. He fell ill in the Philippines and is now at the U S Naval Hospital New Orleans recovering after a week’s leave in Amarillo.
