Sunday shows operate as arrests rise in theatre case
The same procedure as previous Sundays was followed with Sunday moving picture shows. Two theaters opened and eight employees plus manager Will R. Winch were arrested and bonded. Shows continued with large crowds. County Attorney Leo Sparks said no settings were made for pending cases. The December 4 arrests and those on later Sundays remain on the docket and trials are uncertain. The state resists trying the cases in justice court due to possible defense invoking a Supreme Court decision in the Ohio case.
