Miss Talene Hankock, a year old schoolgirl, was killed instantly when a car she drove collided with another driven by fellow students near the schoolhouse. Eyewitnesses say the cars were racing to a corner when the accident occurred.
Cincinnati dispatch reports Judge Cheater I. Shook trimmed a 4600 word alienists report in the Remus murder case to three paragraphs. The ruling accepts only the psychiatrists' finding that Remus was sane after studying the Remus family and hearing five weeks of testimony.
An captured scene at Joliet Union Station as Al Capone Chicago gang leader is arrested on arrival from Los Angeles. Police rushed him to headquarters while four accompanying gangsters were detained, revolvers seized, and a patrol awaited Capone’s escort back to Chicago.
A two day old Chicago infant named by the Chicago Herald and Examiner died after physicians and parents chose not to perform surgery that might have saved the baby’s life. Dr. Martin Schipmen and Ray Cullen could not be reached for comment. Grant hospital confirmed the death but would not comment further.
The final organization meeting of the South Plains Dairy show will be held in Tulsa this afternoon. Two preliminary meetings have been held recently and today the date and place of the show will be named. Jd. F. Ford of the Board of City Development, Howard Ferguson and a News-Globe representative will attend from Amarillo, with George P. Grout, Guernsey expert of Panhandle, joining the Amarillo delegation.
W J Sutherland of eight miles south of the city reports thirteen Mammoth Bronze turkeys stolen last night from his property. Seven hens and six toms were taken. A reward of 25 dollars is offered for recovery and conviction of the thief.
