Eleven travelers aboard the Panhandle Trailways bus traveling west from Oklahoma City to Amarillo were overcome by fumes attributed to carbon monoxide from the engine. Amarillo driver C T Rucker ordered windows opened and transferred victims to a second bus to rush them to Washington Center Clinic in Amarillo. five remained hospitalized noon, none from Amarillo.
