Vernon Texas 18 year old Clyde Sharp Vernon high school left guard died after injuries suffered in the Armistice Day game with Amarillo high school. He underwent several operations and transfusions but did not survive. Funeral services set for 3 pm.
Buenos Aires police mobilized 1 500 officers including detectives and naval detachments to guard the Hoover party amid plots against President-Elect Hoover. Searson and Oliver were detained on the alleged plan. Officials expected Hoover to arrive between 6 30 and 7 pm and ordered a cordon at Central Argentine station to keep unauthorised people away.

Burglary charges against Oran Stewart Sherman Stout B Lighthouser and Floyd Menick dismissed due to missing key witnesses. Stewart Stout faced multiple counts tied to Sears Roebuck and Sixteenth Street M System thefts and Silver Grill cafe burglary. Menick linked to Sears Roebuck case. all incidents occurred in July. Stout and Stewart already sentenced to six years for a separate dry goods store burglary in Clarendon and will be jailed pending penitentiary transfer. Lighthouser likely to be released.

Deadwiley 76 constable of precinct No 1 will be held at 2 30 pm tomorrow at the Church of Christ Rev Robert C Jones officiating Burial ceremonies by the Masonic lodge at Liano cemetery The body lies in state at N S Grigan & Sone until 1 50 pm Friday Amarillo residents survive two sons C C and A M Deadwiley a daughter Mrs W L Seymour and several grandchildren He would have completed four years of service in the constable's office next January.
Boston dispatch reports Max Spector, a salesman, had fifty sample shoes taken from his automobile. All shoes recovered are right-footed, leaving the thief with a comic but problematic loss. Griggs ambulance available. phone 431f.
Severe storms tore through East Texas and parishes in Louisiana, killing one woman and injuring at least 13 others. In Sulphur Springs, Mrs. C. Fridell, 42, died when a pine tree crashed into her home as others, including her mother Mrs. H. C. Dykes, and the Shievers family, were injured. In nearby Houston area, George Wall was knocked unconscious after being hurled into a gas pump. Pearland suffered property destruction and nine injuries with two likely fatal. In North Sabine and South De Soto parishes, Louisiana, multiple residents including Mr. and Mrs. Platt and the Pugh family sustained injuries and various lacerations and fractures.
In Dallas, on December 13, Special Attorney Robert Allen said investigations would continue into the disposal of a $2000 election bet that sparked an argument ending in the fatal shooting of Orville L. Mathews. Adams of Bartlett faces trial for Mathews’ slaying as Allen vowed the case is not over.
New York dispatch recalls Tex Rickard revealing in 1915 he declined an offer to command an army in a Bolivia versus Paraguay conflict. He described guiding cattle outfits through Paraguay and Argentina before seeking approval from Buenos Aires and Paris, which balked at war. Rickard still owns 500 square miles in the Gran Chaco.
