Veteran Jack Alexander Reunites With Daughter After Army Air Forces Service
Jack Alexander returning from a 19 month Army Air Forces tour in Panama reconnected with his daughter Jacqueline Kaye two and a half. The Amarillo, Texas native served as B 26 medium bomber mechanic and completed duties at Camp Fannin before discharge. He logged 350 hours flying time and attended Amarillo Field airplane mechanics school. He previously worked at Pantex Ordnance Plant and planned a post holiday vacation.

Purple Heart Is Enough for Boy
An ex Marine who just left service recovered $534 of his mustering out pay thanks to a messenger boy. Jack McDonald, a post office delivery worker, found a billfold by streetcar tracks and alerted the owner Melvin Peters who offered a reward. Peters declined the reward saying the Purple Heart he earned was enough.
