Batavia Indonesia December 11 Indonesian leaders warned they will resist the military restoration of Dutch sovereignty in Java with both poison and armed force Seers warned of looming danger and resistance in the island turmoil.
Premier Sjahrir declares independence and seeks world recognition as British troops move to back Dutch rule. Soetomo advocates poison to eliminate Dutch forces while Van Mook heads to The Hague. Indonesians warn they will resist if independence is attacked amid a crackdown on movements.
A cold wave brings snow and ice to Central and South Texas with sub freezing lows. Dallas and Austin report 32 by 34 degrees. Lubbock Dalhart and other Texas towns see single digits to low 30s as far north and east experience freezing winds and sleet.
