Lawyer Rose to High Post
William Richard Watkins aged 48, son of Mr and Mrs W A Watkins of Amarillo, died in his New York City home after a recent stroke. Born in Trinidad Colorado he grew up in Amarillo and worked as a court reporter before becoming a lawyer in Amarillo Wichita Falls and Fort Worth. For three years he served as special assistant to the attorney general heading the New York anti trust division. He is survived by his parents.
