W H Batchler announced plans to build a new packing house in Amarillo aiming to make the city a leading livestock market. The plant, opening March 1, will employ at least forty, with ownership urging farmer cooperation and a public abattoir to boost hogs and cattle sales locally.

The first mid winter Boy Scouts holiday camp is reported to be popular under Scout Executive Thomas H. Nelson. Reservations are rising as the group plans a December 26 departure to the Dolecutor encampment, returning January 2, with training and new instruction featured. Campbell, a Panhandle Steam Laundry superintendent, was badly cut and his back sprained in a collision at Fourth and Taylor this afternoon. He was taken to Dr. Whittington's office for treatment after his car struck an Overland sedan. his brother Jesse L. Campbell was briefly rumored to be involved but was only at the scene.

In Hobart district court during the Ruth Hobart and T. Miller slaying case, a prospective juror faced sharp questions about Ku Klux Klan membership and discussions to fund a facts statement.
