City engineer H Banks Jones prepared figures for Amarillo's planned water distribution system and installation costs. A morning fire in Electra caused about 39 000 in losses to the Harris Variety Store Massey Drug Store and the Jefferson Hotel. The blaze started in the variety store and prompted援 calls for help from Wichita Falls and Town Park fire units.
Eskota mayor Feely christened Anton the Panhandle’s newest town near Fort Worth. At opening 172 lots were sold to builders and future business ventures, with four dwellings under construction and a Panhandle Lumber Company yard already established. The town sits 25 miles northwest of Lubbock on the Santa Fe in Spade ranch country.
Efforts to select a jury in the High and Sweetin poisoning case faltered with a full panel of thirty prospective jurors exhausted. Judge orders sheriff to summon talesmen from remote areas to find unbiased jurors as emotions run high in court. They will prepare a distribution cost estimate with F M Cropper and present to the water board in about ten days. The firm supports serving Amarillo or selling to the city for a new water supply.

Coroner J A Murphy reports Mrs Addie Sheatsley wife of Rev C V Sheatley pastor of Christ Evangelical Lutheran church in Bexley committed suicide by entering the furnace at their home. Chemist C F Long and Dr H M Brundage disagree, saying death occurred outside the furnace.
Community Chest officers and directors will meet at the Board of City Development tomorrow evening at 8 to finalize plans for the drive starting next Monday. Secretary O V Vernon says pledge words are prepared and everything will be ready Monday morning.
