J A Cheatham a prominent Canyon farmer died after a six hour illness. He was found in his field in convulsions yesterday at six and died at eleven. He leaves a wife and two children. Special to The Globe.
Governor elect Miriam Ferguson addressed about 500 cattlemen in San Antonio at a special conference on tick eradication. James E. Ferguson chaired the meeting, pledging to involve men and wives in the discussion and urging calm while outlining future remedies. Colonel Ike T. Pryor and W. P. H. McFadden highlighted Texas cattle totals, quarantine removals, and past issues, stressing area cleanup and progress in tick eradication.

Madison Wisconsin December 3 two men killed and one wounded in a feud known for Italian ties. Patrolman Herbert Dreger 28 shot dead while Elmer Thompson 21 a crippled elevator operator wounded near death corner. An armed suspect identified by witnesses. Dreger likely shot as he investigated.
C. H. Pittman, sought in Randall county for a past shooting, was part of a jail escape in August 1921 and is now held in Wichita Falls. Sheriff Bell Black Canyon has been notified.
