Governor Stevenson proclaims 7-13 Pecan Week in Texas and notes the state produces nearly 50 percent of the nation’s pecan crop. Last year’s market yield reached 41 million bushels. The pecan is designated as the state tree.
Panhandle Hereford beef from Weymouth of Potter County captured first in the yearling feeder class at the Chicago International.
