Christmas Window Displays Fired Up By Knights Of Columbus
A feature on downtown window displays for Christmas by merchants in celebration of Christ's meaning. The Knights of Columbus sponsor a competition with $50 in prizes for best displays to be judged December 24. Sixteen stores are expected to participate, with entries due by December 15 and judging on December 24 at Rancho Course.

Barnard Wins Naval Scholarship From UT
John Hawkins Barnard son of B D Barnard 2018 Rule was awarded the Jesse Jones Naval scholarship at the University of Texas. The endowment honors Fleet Adm Chester W Nimitz retired. Barnard earned the award as an Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps member with outstanding qualifications. He is a sophomore arts and sciences student and a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and Phi Eta Sigma.
