Rites for Lieutenant Works Set for 3 Tomorrow
The body of Lieutenant Maurice Works arrives in Amarillo from San Francisco at 2 05 am and will lay in state at the family home before a 3 pm Saturday funeral at Polk Street Methodist Church conducted by the church pastor with Bishop Sea and Dr. W M Pearce assisting. Pallbearers include J W Sharman and others. honorary pallbearers are A&M College students and alumnae. Interment follows at Llano Mausoleum with a short American Legion service. Survivors include parents four sisters and one brother with several in Amarillo and Kobe Japan.

Three Auburn Prisoners Die in Sing Sing Executions
OSSINING N Y Aug 29 Three Auburn prison convicts paid with their lives last night for the murder of Henry Sullivan during last December’s riot at Sing Sing prison. Jesse Thomas William Force and Claude Udwine faced the electric chair bravely and without aid in the death chamber. Thomas 20 the youngest spoke defiantly then died four minutes after being strapped in. Force chided the executioner and walked in unaided. Udwine calm declared he was going on an exploration trip and noted they carried you out you don t have to walk.
