Promise to Enforce Sanitation Rules at Plant in Amarillo
The Amarillo city commission promised to enforce all sanitary regulations at the Eads Hide and Wool rendering plant at 1900 North First and urged officials to install odor control devices. Health chief Jack Wyatt outlined five recommendations to curb odors, including sealing off offal storage, washing ramps, daily grease trap skim, and lime use on stock pens. Residents led by Mrs Jewel Tucker Iiams and Gordon Williams pressed the issue amid zoning limits that allow the plant.
