Funeral at 3 for victim of drowning hereford
Hereford, Aug 13 Funeral services for Paul Lance 22 will be held at 3 this afternoon at Summerfield Baptist Church with burial in West Park Cemetery under Gilliland Funeral Home. Lance drowned in Buffalo Lake about 9 Saturday night after falling from a boat. The body was recovered at 4 45 yesterday morning by Amarillo firemen. Over 100 area men helped search overnight. He was the son of Mr and Mrs Earl Lance Sr whose parents were at the bedside of a younger brother Jerry Don when the tragedy happened. Jerry Don fell from a tree July 17 and has been unconscious since. condition slightly improved. Lance was with cousin Eugene R Clark 15 when he fell overboard. Clark said he heard a splash and saw his cousin missing. the boat was stopped. Randall County commissioner Clarence Beeckman conducted an inquest and will file a verdict likely accidental drowning. Lance is survived by his parents three brothers Jerry Don Earl Jr and C J Lance all near Hereford and three sisters Mrs Rosene Dawson and Miss Ann Lance both of Summerfield and Mrs Billie Webb of Lubbock.
