UN and Communist negotiators reach day 14 of deadlock at Kaesong over cease-fire lines as Nam II rejects UN air and naval superiority and pushes for a line along the 38th parallel. Allied and Red delegates set a 11 AM Wednesday meeting to seek a breakthrough with renewed hope for peace.
The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals ordered a sanity trial for Richard W. McGee, killer of Lubbock grocer R. L. Allston on July 7, 1949. A jury will determine if McGee has become insane since conviction, with him to await trial under district court custody.
Chief of Detectives J L King reported two more persons questioned in the Phantom burglary cases with no charges yet and no one in custody. He said progress is being made but declined details as Neo house burglaries were reported and about twenty near Southwest Amarillo areas including the 900 blocks of Travis Bowie and Bonham were targeted.
Governor Thomas E. Dewey of New York remains on a fact finding tour of the East and will leave Wellington for Auckland tomorrow. He will board a plane there Thursday for the Fiji Islands on the return leg of his trip.
The US Weather Bureau reports fair conditions across Amarillo and vicinity with continued high temperatures. Forecast shows today near 98 degrees and 66 tonight, with 97 high tomorrow and 67 low. Panhandle outlook favors outdoor operations under clear to partly cloudy skies. West Texas remains generally fair with little temperature change, while New Mexico expects fair skies with isolated thundershowers in the southwest portion.

About 200 to 250 volunteers line up at a small school as 469 participants received the first of five injections yesterday and officials report no reactions.

The Hearst Papers chief led a 200 million dollar empire with sons William Randolph Jr Randolph David John George at his deathbed. He was famed for extremes in yellow journalism and advocacy for eight hour day and women's suffrage. He owned San Simeon and Wyntoon estates and vast media holdings.
The Amarillo Labor Legislative Council decided last night not to stage the usual Labor Day Parade on Monday September 3, due to the AFL state convention being held here next year. Several thousand delegates are expected from the convention, which was held this year in Galveston. Some special events will observe Labor Day instead of a parade.
LOS ANGELES August 14 Pj Or ville Rambo, a man with no arms or legs, is set to stand trial August 29 on three counts of writing bad checks. Police say Rambo holds a pen between his chin and shoulder.
Washington dispatch reports the House approved a defense fund totaling 5.7687 billion dollars the largest military construction plan ever sent to Congress in war or peace. In a separate item the presidential race moved forward as Senator Paul H. Douglas of Illinois said he will not run in 1952.
Former Communist spy Elizabeth Bentley testified that Henry Morgenthau Jr. was used by wartime Communist agents to advance the Red cause. The claim ties Morgenthau to espionage networks and wartime political maneuvering.
Ironworkers at Pantex Atomic Energy Plant resumed work this afternoon ending a dispute over welding duties on reinforcing steel. About 100 ironworkers had walked off after a jurisdictional dispute with electrical workers, risking a halt to concrete construction and other trades’ progress. Prime contractors Silas Mason Company and Walden Fulton Payne faced the stoppage, which arose from a National Joint Board decision backed by F. H. Prock.
