Patterson New Jersey, Aug 12. William Watson, 89, returns to his old home after leaving 34 years ago to help drive a locomotive to Texas. He learns his wife died 32 years ago and one daughter passed away 23 years ago. He stayed with daughter Mrs John Coons. Watson spent 30 years with a Dallas telephone company after delivering the locomotive, then came back to Patterson to see how life changed. The Cook Locomotive Works, his former employer, is now closed.

Martin Vance of Sherman faces trial in McKinney in September on three charges after allegedly unloading liquor from his car following a fatal collision that killed a child. Bond set at 2750 dollars. Charged with transportation of intoxicating liquor driving while intoxicated and negligent homicide. Witnesses say he unloaded the liquor then fled and later called a doctor.
The United States government now furnishes flags for the caskets of all war veterans. Post offices in county seats handle distribution. Postmaster W C Kenyon reports a large shipment to this area. Flags are free and given to next of kin after burial services.

In Oklahoma City on August 12, food raiders looted and set fire to the R. O. Williams grocery, then vanished with an undetermined amount of groceries. Miss Mary Bradley, alerted by a truck engine, found the store in flames as a wall exploded, leaving police puzzled by the theft and arson and investigating the motive as the act of a desperate unemployed man.

In Livingston Texas a 14 year old girl testified that her father Joe B Zimmerman formed a killing plot after she read him a detective story with similar details two sticks of dynamite blew up neighbor M H Nettles killing him. Zimmerman described the plan and method and said Nettles had stolen his wife. He admitted dropping dynamite down Nettles home chimney at about 4 a M and aiding his wife to Nettles bed before providing him medical help. The state rested yesterday and Zimmerman remained on the stand through the session.
In Ann Arbor Michigan two brothers Lawrence and Paul Keen were spirited from Washtenaw County jail for further questioning about the torch murders of four youths aged 16. Investigators found a .38 caliber bullet in Harry Lore and bloodstained items in a portable hut near a burned car as they build a case against suspects linked to the deadly assault.
Indications show all Albuquerque hotel reservations for the Panhandle caravan will be filled by Friday night. Mason King of the chamber of commerce warns those planning to travel and stay must secure bookings by Saturday night, as about half the caravan will camp. Texans are urged to enroll in the Panhandle caravan and buy First American tickets to receive matinee and grandstand seating, with a parade planned near Albuquerque.
