Thelma Josephine Heidgerken, five, died at a local hospital at midnight Tuesday. her sister Bernice is gravely ill. Thelma and Bernice contracted a rare disease likely from contaminated milk from the family cow. Thelma was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Heidgerken of 86 North Western Avenue. Survived by two brothers in Amarillo and two sisters, funeral plans expect Nazareth, former home of the family, as announced by Boxwell Brothers. The Heidgerkens are Catholics.

Relief Up To Texas Warning On State Relief Funds
Federal Relief Administrator Hopkins warned Texas that no further grants would be issued until the state provides a substantial share of relief funds. He suggested Texas could raise 500 million dollars to match federal disbursements in the first year of relief. A Panhandle rally plan meeting in Amarillo is set for Tuesday to organize support for an August 26 relief bond issue of 20 million dollars with local committees and leaders outlining the campaign. The constitutional amendment would authorize issuing bonds up to 20 million dollars for relief over the next two years to match federal and Texas funds.
