Allred Silent on Oil Code Action
Texas attorney general James V. Allred said he had nothing to say about the proposed oil industry code from the national recovery program. He spoke after attending hearings in Washington with Gen Hugh S. Johnson and planned to return for final hearings. The code may influence Allied suit against 15 oil companies and two associations under Texas anti trust laws, Allred added, and he noted the legislature can suspend anti trust statutes while the code is in effect. A form statute is being sent to state governors to enable cooperation in the recovery movement.
