Cloudbursts Strike Region of Wallenburg
United Press reports severe cloudbursts hit Huerfano county Colorado on August 3. One half inch of rain fell in thirty minutes ending a two week spell of rain. Sand Creek rose to 18 feet washing away paths and damaging bridges. Turner railroad bridge and highway bridge north of Wallenburg were destroyed severing all northern highway links. Two miles of track damaged near Augusta and half a mile near Tuna. Telegraph lines were down hindering damage assessment.

Dr R J Moore and family have returned from a three weeks rest in the mountains of New Mexico and Colorado. Mrs Gayle McFadden of Palm Beach, daughter of Mr and Mrs Gaines Dr Whitsitt, underwent an appendectomy at St Anthony's hospital Saturday and is recovering rapidly. Mrs McFadden has been summering with her parents and became ill several days ago.
