Price ceiling on cotton debated by government and industry
Washington reports authorities weigh not imposing price ceilings on cotton and instead using the Commodity Credit Corporation to stabilize prices by selling government stocks. CCC can sell up to 300000 bales monthly and 1500000 annually at parity, aiding war needs but facing enforcement and producer conversion concerns. A war bonds note adds context to financing bomber production.
