Pioneer Amarillo merchant M C Nobles dies at 87 last night in Amarillo. Rites set for 4 p m tomorrow at First Presbyterian Church with Dr R Thomson officiating. Burial in Llano Cemetery under N S Griggs and Sons. Nobles helped found Wooten and Nobles, later Nobles Brothers Grocery, and started Amarillo Oil Company that found the Panhandle field. Survivors include two daughters Iva Storm and May Williams and two sons G C and D Nobles, all of Amarillo, plus five grandchildren. He lived with daughter Mrs C M Williams at 1118 Taylor Street. Interment and service details noted. body in state at Griggs chapel until the hour before the service.
