The second trial of Judge John W Brady for the murder of court stenographer Miss Lehlia Highsmith was moved to Dallas County and set for May 5 in Criminal District Court No. 2. Attorneys for Brady requested the change of venue, which was not opposed by District Attorney Henry Brooks.
In Springfield Massachusetts April 14 1934 news reports state Mrs John Newton aided a tramp sixteen years ago with food clothing and a half dollar. Eugene Stanford later left a will in Texas gifting Mrs Newton one third of his ninety thousand dollar estate.

In Dallas on April 14 Judge C A Pippen forfeited $33,000 in bonds for 25 felony cases after Yancey Story failed to appear. Sayers said Story is hiding after Denton County officers planned to arrest him. Bonds ordered re-arrest and set at $5,000 per case. remaining terms include withdrawal of appeal and five year prison term.
Lyall Wright once police chief in Juneau County was arrested for questioning in the slaying of Clinton G. Price the district attorney. Price shot through a kitchen door screen during an ambush as he descended stairs. Wright had testified against Price at a federal liquor trial and was seen walking with a bandaged hand after his arrest.
Chas M Rogers high school supervisor calls McLean a great singer and outstanding stage personality. He notes McLean's audience rapport and cowboy ballads from Las Vegas New Mexico. McLean appears with Cornelius Van Vliet at the Panhandle Music Festival tour in Amarillo with tickets selling fast.
A new tree clinic for young Amarillo children becomes a reality after weeks of planning by the Junior Welfare League. The first clinic is tomorrow and will continue each Tuesday and Saturday, in the basement of the county library on the courthouse square with Miss Mildred Garrett, county health nurse, in charge.
President Hoover will speak tonight at the thirty ninth continental congress of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The address will be broadcast across a wide network including NBC and CBS Colum bia stations during opening events at the organization’s new headquarters auditorium in Washington.
Amarillo shows strong interest in Birch the Magician as tickets race. Birch performs at Municipal Auditorium tonight and tomorrow under American Legion sponsorship. Gibson Drug Store at 111 Fast Seventh Avenue sells reserved seats for $1. A children's matinee is held tomorrow with Hanson Post hosting at the Children’s Home.
Radio features tonight across the chain include 7:40 Troubadors on WIZ and partner stations KOA KSL WOAI WKY and more. National Broadcasting Co presents Tod Fiorito Orchestra on WIZ chain and KOA WKY WSM KTHS. A 10:30 Amon n Andy on WAZ and related outlets. Local box lists KMOX WENRK WBBM and others with hotel orchestra and studio programs through late evening.
London hosts the historic pact signing after weeks of talks at the London naval conference. Prime Minister MacDonald announced a three power Japan America Britain naval limitation agreement with France and Italy in the broader five power framework. The date targets April 22 as the signings approach, with last minute negotiations over submarine limits and capital ship holiday still unsettled. Senator Capper endorsed the London conference agreement in Washington.
