Thirteen Held in Mexico City Sedition Plot

Thirteen persons including two women were detained by police in Mexico City over a sedition plot aimed at killing President Manuel Avila Camacho and other leaders. The conspiracy, described as of no importance by Attorney General Jose Aguilar y Maya, follows a separate attempted assassination of the president by Lt. Antonio de la Lama Rojas, who died after being shot resisting guards. The detainees, many over 60, were said to have held meetings in a carpentry shop and some to have been making bombs.
