Fiddlers and dancers shine at Amarillo event
Several hundred attended a local fiddling show with Tugh Roden winning the banjo contest and Jesse Robertson placing second. The guitar contest was not held. Billy Mack drew applause for clog dancing and challenged the state. The Sunshine Mawalian orchestra from WDAG performed two pieces. Morris of Dalhart violin soloed and sang, with Hugh Roden offering stunt violin numbers. The finale featured the entire group in Turkey in the Straw as Billy Mack danced. Judges included Col. Ridings John Arnot L Richardson and J Ro Gaut.
