France shows big cut in her war strength
Paris April 9 United Press says France plans for the Geneva disarmament conference reflect a clear stance. Budget up 180 million francs from 1930 but military expense compared with 1914 shows France 16 percent lower in activity. A second table notes a 45 percent drop in fighting effectives since 1914, with Germany omitted for fairness. Journal des Debats cites France moving decisively toward diminutions despite financial pressure.
