Plainview hosts third annual Panhandle Plains Dairy Show

A near two hundred people led by the American Legion Auxiliary and Lions Club left Amarillo by special Santa Fe train for Plainview to attend the Panhandle Plains Dairy Show. Delegations from many cities joined a parade through Plainview, which turned into a carnival atmosphere with local bands Boy Scouts and civic groups taking part.

Manter Bandits Face Death Trial Today

In Eads Colorado on April 8 three men charged with the murder of Sheriff E A Hickman of Eads face trial for their lives. The trio John Walker Clyde Ray and Andrew Halliday confessed to slaying Hickman during their flight after robbing the State Bank of Manter Kansas on March 14. A posse captured them after a wide search with hundreds joining the pursuit through the Arroyo country near the Colorado Kansas line.
