Tickets for the Panhandle Music Festival April 16 17 and 18 go on sale at Amarillo College of Music 1104 Polk Street at 9 AM Wednesday. Five artists appear with two joint recitals. Prices range from 1 top balcony to 2 50 best seats with season tickets available for one program and most $5 seats nearly sold out.
A near two hundred people led by the American Legion Auxiliary and Lions Club left Amarillo by special Santa Fe train for Plainview to attend the Panhandle Plains Dairy Show. Delegations from many cities joined a parade through Plainview, which turned into a carnival atmosphere with local bands Boy Scouts and civic groups taking part.
In Eads Colorado on April 8 three men charged with the murder of Sheriff E A Hickman of Eads face trial for their lives. The trio John Walker Clyde Ray and Andrew Halliday confessed to slaying Hickman during their flight after robbing the State Bank of Manter Kansas on March 14. A posse captured them after a wide search with hundreds joining the pursuit through the Arroyo country near the Colorado Kansas line.
A Dallas report notes Dr. Hiram W. Evans to seek trial in a libel suit against the Austin American. In Surat India Ram Das Gandhi and four companions receive six months hard labor for breaking salt laws. In Oklahoma two Continental Pipeline workers die and three are injured when a company truck overturns in Osage County. Washington reports the government weighing liquor buyer liability alongside bootleggers in enforcement debates.
In Chicago on election day three men were arrested after a kidnapping attempt on Alderman Sheldon W. Govier. Govier filed assault charges. the assault threat involved seven attackers and a crowded curbside scene. Police patrolled polling places as officials prepared for potential violence.
Steel beams were set this morning for the West Third Street subway under the Rock Island track. The cut through the railroad dirt embankment means no concrete retaining walls will be needed as work nears completion. The East Third Avenue and Fillmore Street underpasses remain in planning.
Miss Beulah Allred of Pampa, famed anti liquor crusader, visited Amarillo with no real purpose. She had been jailed for transporting liquor to the court house but was freed in Pampa after District Attorney Clifford Braley dismissed the charge. She said liquor was bought by her agents and planned to show the grand jury.
Kansas City detectives find a car claimed by Dr. J. A. Bass of Columbia Missouri in a local garage. Six 38 caliber cartridges and a matching bullet, plus six letters to Bass, are recovered. Pearman died from three 38 caliber wounds. Bass is charged. Federal suit seeks to cancel $20,000 Pearman policies tied to Andrew J. Bass of Columbia.
Today further conferences were held between the right‑of‑way committee and landowners along the proposed Santa Fe line from Amarillo to the Moore County line. J Ray, chairman, said definite announcements would come by night. The Bivins Estate tendered full right‑of‑way privileges as the rail line will traverse 17 miles through the Bivins ranch.
United Press reports from Cairo that a vast locust plague, the largest in modern times, has descended on Egypt. Trains are blocked and hundreds of acres of cultivated land are devastated as dispatches describe the sweeping agricultural damage.
Senator Black of Alabama called J E Pierce a coward during a Senate lobby committee session over a $1000 check from J W Worthington tied to Muscle Shoals private ownership. Pierce accused Black of lying and contempt, a dispute that nearly led to a confrontation outside before the committee adjourned.
Josephus Daniels, a dry Democratic editor, was not permitted by the Senate Lobby Committee to repeat a demand during a Washington hearing on April 8.

Paul Dana aged 78 and son of Charles A. Dana died at Doctor's Hospital after pneumonia led to a pulmonary embolism. He served as editor in chief of the New York Sun from 1896 to 190%.
Dallas hosts the 44th annual Lumbermen’s Association of Texas convention with prominent industry leaders in attendance. Gaines D. Whitsett of Amarillo to be honored by a Hoo-Hoo ceremony, while the Texas Line Yard Retail Dealers Association met as a prelude. New officers named include H. W.
