Plainview's chamber of commerce boy's band, with a strong record in state contests, plans to enter the five-year class at the West Texas Chamber of Commerce convention in Mineral Wells in May hoping to win the Gold Medal for the next year. Director Frank Ihlefeldt has led the group for three years, and they have previously won first at the Plainview convention and second in San Angelo in 1923, with Brownwood last year. A Weatherford medal rivalry is noted as part of the band’s recent history.
