The forecast calls for partly cloudy and colder conditions tonight and Thursday. Local temperatures show a range from 46 to 77 degrees with posted hourly readings. Oklahoma expects cloudy and colder weather, with east areas milder. West Texas cloudy tonight and fair tomorrow. Louisiana and Arkansas forecast showers or cloudiness with colder temperatures in parts.
Six fighters tied to a cattlemen's convention boxing card at the Armory were indicted by a grand jury for violating state prize fight laws which ban official decisions. Names include Bobby Vincent Duff Stanley Johnny Towhead Jack Doss Duke Tramel and others in Fort Worth Blackwell Dodge City and Oklahoma.
Palo Duro Lodge No. 1239 of Amarillo will confer the Masters degree for a large class Saturday night April 7 in the blue lodge room of the Masonic Temple. Delegations from Clarendon Claude Canyon Groom Isom McLean and Pampa lodges will attend and teams will be drawn from Panhandle lodges for the work.

Mrs. Calvin Coolidge narrowly avoided a live trolley wire in Northampton while on a shopping tour with Mrs. R B Hills. A secret service man escorted them as a steam shovel had torn the wire and laid it across the street. Mrs. Coolidge had been visiting her elderly mother, Mrs. Lemira Goodhue, at Dickinson hospital.
United Press reports Progressive Republican delegates expanding their lead as returns from four states show Al Smith carrying New York Michigan Wisconsin and Maine for a total of 154 pledged delegates. Hoover trails Lowden in the Republican race while New York delegates stay uninstructed under Hilles. Wisconsin remains too close to call with LaFollette’s Norris favored if he wins.
Amarillo today launches a two day carnival of sports with a 3 pm baseball opener between the Amarillo Texans and the Israelite House of David. Cross country runners coached by C C Pyle and Red Grange will finish at Texan Park tomorrow as Grange umpires the game. Payne of Oklahoma and Kenneth Campbell of Ranger lead runners while Ranger supporters plan to march to Amarillo to cheer Campbell.
Funeral directors say arrangements are pending arrival of relatives for Corrine McMeans who was fatally injured in an automobile wreck near Dumas yesterday morning.

About forty cars carrying 200 people will join Amarillo’s convoy to Plainview for the Panhandle Dairy Show. The trip, led by Col Harve Haines, aims to attract 500 Amarillo residents and features a 40 mile per hour parade with police escort. The one day event includes 279 cattle shown by over 70 Panhandle breeders and an auction sale, with Amarillo Tri-State directors in attendance to promote the fall free fair.

Slaton secretary of the chamber L A Wilson visited Amarillo and urged the city to meet the college funding needs. Committees said responses to the Amarillo College fund are very satisfactory and the work is in hand. Wilson expressed hope Amarillo would not be disappointed and told Dr Morgan that Slaton is looking at you.
Fort Worth experienced a heavy storm that caused wind and rain damage estimated between 25 000 and 30 000 dollars. City engineers and electricians worked to repair streets and wiring after the roofs of two Casino Park sections at Luke Worth were ripped off, with about 20 000 dollars in damage. Water covered parts of two districts and rainfall exceeded three inches in an hour.
