West Texas slaying suspect seen near Dickinson
A blond hitchhiker matching the fugitive description was sighted in West Texas as police hunt for the killer of Mrs. Ruby C. McPherson her 12 year old son George Richard and her mother Zola Norman. An airman in uniform is also being sought after being seen with the victims. The trio were found shot at their home near Dickinson on Saturday night.

Lightning Kills Mrs Henry Julian in Front Yard
Mrs Henry Julian about 50 was killed tonight when struck by a bolt of lightning at the home of her son Jimmy Julian in Canadian. She was standing in the front yard around 8 30 p m and died instantly, sheriff Hemphill County Harry Rathjen said.

Curry County Girl Killed In Pickup Accident
A Curry County girl died after being thrown from a pickup fender northwest of Clovis around 10:30 a.m. Linda Snell, year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Snell, rode with her mother on the front fender while her 11-year-old brother rode the opposite fender. The truck hit a bump, throwing Linda to the ground as the vehicle passed over her. She was pronounced dead at Clovis Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are pending at Steed Funeral Home in Clovis.

Tornado Slams Panhandle Area Killing Farmer
A Nebraska farmer Ken neth E. Guyer Sr., 46, died when lightning struck his tractor on a farm seven miles southwest of Panhandle. A youth nearby was stunned but unharmed. Robert Parker, 16, assisted after the bolt, but Guyer died before help arrived. The afternoon accident occurred around 5 p.m. CDT. Nearby Scottsbluff was hit by a tornado killing at least three and injuring about 25, with Morrill and Mitchell also affected.

Tractor Crash Kills Quay County Boy
Quay County youth Frank Jackson Bell aged 11 died when a tractor overturned southeast of Tucumcari. He lived with his mother Mrs H E Lankford on the O B Palmer farm. He was pronounced dead at Tucumcari General Hospital after the 8 10 am accident. Survivors include Bonny Skeen, John Morrison, and Mrs Myrtle Morrison. Funeral arrangements were pending in Tucumcari.

Thunderstorms Plague Panhandle Killing Two in Storms
A Panhandle line of storms yesterday caused two deaths Kenneth E. Guyer Sr. a Carson County farmer and Mrs Henry Julian of Canadian. The system produced up to 5 inches of rain washed out a bridge east of Canadian and halted Highway 60. Lightning sparked several small fires damaged a few homes and struck a school chimney. Rain totals varied across Amarillo area with up to .75 inch west side and .31 inch for the day. Forecasters expect more thundershowers with continued unsettled weather.
