Three Galveston men Frank Maceo Vic C Maceo and Sam Serio were charged in federal court with income tax invasion claiming they avoided more than 70000 in 1949 taxes. Serio linked to the Maceo Syndicate served as chief accountant. Atty Harmon Parrott sought a summons for later examining trial.
Lucille Schreiber, 22, sue four doctors in Denver district court for $250,000 alleging a May 1951 sterilization at the Colorado state mental hospital in Pueblo while she was a patient violated state law and the federal constitution. She names Dr. F H Zimmerman, Dr. J L Rosenblum, Dr. W T Wingett, and Dr. Irving Schatz as defendants.
