Light Freezing Drizzle Forecast Over Amarillo Area

Occasional light freezing drizzle was forecast for Amarillo and the Panhandle by the U S Weather Bureau. Five Boys Held After Bronx Live Target Shooting

Five youths aged 12 to 16 were held after a 15-year-old shot 10-year-old Patricia Murphy in the Bronx while aiming at tin cans. Patricia, hit in the back, endured a five hour operation and remained critical. Police also seized three teens in a Queens purse snatching related to the day’s events.

Pair Sought After Armed Robbery At Jett’s Station

Two Lubbock suspects a 20 year old man and 11 year old girl robbed Jett’s Phillips 66 at 528 N Fillmore returning $50. Police traced the getaway car to 4th and Polk within an hour. The attendant said the pair robbed him when opening the register for a change return to a cigarette buyer. The station owner is Edward L Jett. The man is an ex convict who served a Montana Penitentiary sentence for armed robbery. The girl is believed to be his sister.
