Sul Ross State College reports a new all time enrollment high exceeding 1,200 as late registrations through Sept 30 push total beyond the 1,199 previous record set last fall. Registrar Glenn F. Davis notes figures exclude extension classes taught in West Texas cities.
Bids will be opened in Austin on October 16 for widening 33 bridges along U S Highway 67 from east of Alpine to the Pecos County line. Bridges will widen from 24 to 36 feet, with Ramsey Draw and Antelope Draw extended to 30 feet. a new bridge will span Ramsey Draw.
