Grand Jury urges Alpine city to publish three financial reports yearly
In Sept 1960 the Brewster County Grand Jury presented Alpine City Council 10 recommendations for city governance. Recommendation No 9 urged publication of three financial reports annually, two by the treasurer and one by the council, per state statutes Art 1001 and Art 1023.

Ex Students complain over Austin stadium seating limits
The Texas Exes report only 66 000 seats at Memorial Stadium this season with 28 000 between the goal lines. Faculty and visiting teams receive limited allocations leaving 35 000 to 45 000 seats for students and others. Expanded seating to 80 000 is not ready this year and many options remain unfilled.
