Brewster County Votes 300000 Road Bond for Great Roads
On September 16 1922 Brewster County voters approved a 300000 road bond with about a ten to one margin to fund Border Patrol Highway No 12 and related routes from San Antonio to Alpine. The plan proposes 50000 allocations each for Fort Stockton Alpine Fort Davis Alpine and roads south to the Rio Grande with three matching dollars in state and federal support. Local leaders including B F Berkeley Secretary Pautincey Judge Perkins and others praised the decision as a milestone for progress, growth and regional connectivity.
