Marathon News A Busy Year for Local Clubs
Marathon community reports a new year opening with the Study Club meeting at Mrs. Mabel D. Arnold’s home. New president Mrs. David Bishop Jr. presided as two former members joined, and the club voted to stay in the Federation. The Bridge Club met at Hotel Parkway with Mrs. Earl Young hosting and prize scores noted. Several residents travel and visit relatives in nearby towns, with Charolais cattle sales and local social events listed. The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 324 held a September meeting approving plans for the year and preparing for a season-ending dance with Charles Cook and the W–Bar A band.
