Alpine Citizens Invited To Hear Armistice Day Program

Alpine residents are invited to a joint Armistice day program at the college chapel at 10:25 for about 30 minutes, including music by the orchestra and a short drama Journey's End read by Miss Annie Kate Ferguson. County Court Starts Monday

Horse Show Armistice Day at Marfa

The First United States Cavalry will hold a horse show and gymkhana on Armistice Day at Marfa, advised by Captain Donald R. Dunkle. The event runs 9:00 am to noon with free admission, inviting Alpine and Brewster county residents to attend in appreciation of the Big Send citizens.

Patrolman Ware Hord engages two Mexicans on the Texas side of the Rio Grande near Ruidosa in Presidio County under a full moon. Alpine contractor Gene Odell in charge says work on the former hotel at the Lobo site is underway after about a week. The damaged building is being rebuilt as a ranch headquarters for West Pyle Cattle Company, with the top story to be removed and several outbuildings, including a bank, a foreman’s home and other structures to be mined.

Alpine PTA Carnival Plans Complete for Halloween Fun

The Alpine Parent-Teacher Association plans its sixth annual Halloween carnival at Holland Avenue community place. A crowning carnival queen will lead a parade, with princesses and a duchess from local schools. Events include a 10th grade football game, two dances, Mexican supper, and various booths with games, prizes, and entertainment. All rides and booths feature low prices with a masked dress code for attendees.
