Central PTA withdraws from National Congress

The Central PTA voted 52 to 7 to withdraw from the National Congress of Parents and Teachers for one year after a study committee found its policies on legislation contrary to local feelings. The committee chaired by Mrs. Arvel R. Ponton criticized the National Congress for its lobbying influence and stance on federal aid to education. Ex-officio members include Supt. Jack Frost and Principal Guy C. Woodruff. The meeting also discussed buying a 16 mm mobile movie projector with hopes of federal funding, and a separate program on parenting pressures titled Your Child's Merry Go Round.

Clinton Ezell Dies in Truck Crash Near Tempe Arizona

James Spither Joins Brewster County Memorial Hospital

James Spitler, 33, former CIT Corp. Dallas manager, is named office manager and credit and collection manager at Brewster County Memorial Hospital. Administrative manager John Stuckwish announced the move yesterday. Spitler, now married to Betty White, with two children, will reside at 805 N Walker.
