Four Million Acres Top Item on County Tax Rolls
Valuations for 1941 show total county tax roll at 8,013,404 up from 7,734,871 in 1940. Ranch lands lead with about four million acres valued at 3,014,020, followed by rail roads at 1,249,781 and town residences at 1,107,030. Horse and mule 39,550 cattle 797,350 sheep 374,300 goats 82,750. sheep up 28,943 head from 1940 while cattle drop 5,218 and horses rise 64 from last year.

Junior High Football Boy Sustains Broken Ankle
Billy Burling son of Mr and Mrs Burling sustained a broken ankle in a Grandfalls Junior High football game last Saturday afternoon. Coach Peyton Cain said Billy had carried the leather several times and was winded when tackled near the sideline by a Grandfalls player. An x ray showed a light fracture keeping him out for the rest of the football season. He was one of the outstanding players on the Junior High team.

FFA Boys Remodel Feed Pens Acquired By Alpine Rotary Club
The Alpine Rotary Club bought Hancock Hill land owned by C. Morrison for the Alpine Chapter of Future Farmers to feed lambs this spring. The FFA boys rebuilt fences and catch pens, remodeled a 1z by 90 ft pen area on about two acres, added feed troughs, and plan to feed about 30 lambs. The public is invited to visit the pens.
