Early Settler Remembers Easier Life in Davis Mountains
An 85 year old Texas settler William Wallace Johnson recalls life in the 1880s Davis mountains. He helped Captain Jack W. Hardwick build a frame house near Rockpile, faced the 1885 cattle drought, and later sold his Heart 7 brand.
