Isaac Funk Dies at 88 in San Angelo Ranching Career
Word reached last week that Isaack Funk died in San Angelo at age 88. He had been a Tom Green county ranchman for 66 years and was uncle to Mrs. Chas. Livingston of Alpine. In other news, Mr. and Mrs. Jimy Pate drove to San Antonio with their small son for a Tuesday surgery at a local hospital.

Presbyterians Plan Early Start For New Church Building
The Presbyterian church announces plans to begin construction of a new portion of the church using baked hollow tile and stucco. An eastward sanctuary addition will feature a vestibule on Avenue C and will connect to the existing building, which will be repurposed for education and recreation. The project replaces the church building destroyed by fire on April 15, 1943, with Mauldin and Lovett of San Angelo as architects.

Sul Ross Homecoming Plans Highlight October Event
Sul Ross State Teachers College hosts a homecoming on Saturday October 23 with an 8 pm football game against the University of Corpus Christi and a day of ex students activities. Alpine Chamber backs groundwater plans over lake project
