In the Trans Pecos region the Pecos river surged 35 to 45 feet causing channel shifts and bank damage. Sale of Brewster Ranch Announced
The J. L. Henderson firm announced the sale of the Brewster Ranch about 45 miles south of Marathon to the Thomas Brothers of Junction. The ranch comprises about 12,000 acres of patented land and sold for $11,842,26 according to the deed filed here Monday. Henderson is agent for Magnolia Petroleum company at Marathon and has other business interests.

Funeral services for on A. Marshall, age 80, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lill Collifflower, in Marfa Monday, were held at the home of O. M. Roberts in Marathon Wednesday at 7. Rev. M. A. Buhler, pastor of the Christian church, Alpine, officiating. Born in Baltimore, Md. Dec. 26, 1855, Mr. Marshall came to West Texas in 1885 and served in the army at Fort Davis.

A 20 year old Sul Ross sophomore Mil Arledge was killed on highway 90 east of Alpine Texas when struck by an unknown vehicle. An inquest found death from a skull fracture. Sheriff Gourley and Milton Gilmer reported seeing the body and a vehicle license number was taken.
