Former Alpine Resident Cavender Dies in Rio Grande City
Mrs. G G Cavender aged 16 mother of Mrs T F Skevington of this city died at her daughter Mrs Belle O Meara home in Rio Grande City last Friday and was buried there Saturday. She lived in Alpine for about ten years before moving to Rio Grande City three years ago. her husband died here earlier. Survived by four children including Mrs Skevington Mrs O Meara Mrs H S Wood of Anthon and son Fletcher Cavender of San Antonio. Mr and Mrs Skevington could not attend the funeral.

Rain Delays Work on Davis Highway Fort Davis Road Update

Lobos Win Season Opener Over Abilene Christian Wild Cats

Alpine Man Acquitted of Murder Charge by Henderson
An Alpine man, charged with the slaying of Thomas L. Patton of Los Angeles on July 3, was acquitted after a two hour deliberation. The defendant cited unwritten law as his defense. Mr and Mrs Henderson, Calif residents, had been in Alpine while awaiting trial and expected to return to their ranch north of town.
